What the Arsenal fans think of Lucas Perez

Perez is actually a good player, he's just not a great player or one that was ever really going to be a top striker for us.
I bet he does good at West Ham and good for him, us p*ssing around with his career for 2 years was not a true reflection of him as a player.

I think at a club like Newcastle or West Ham he could do some damage, his skills are certainly better than those clubs are worth.
Maybe he'll link up well with Wilshere, they both have decent football brains.

Montieth had this bizarre theory that Arsenal not poaching any of our players was payback for our support of them in two big decisions which went in their favour - being allowed to move to North London, and their dodgy promotion to the First Division after WWI, despite only finishing 6th in the last Second Division campaign before the War. And behind clubs that weren't promoted.
But
a) these transfers happened before the supposed support;
b) our "support" was worth fuck all, as we didn't have a vote in those decisions - how much greater Arsenal's gratitude should have been to those clubs who actually voted on their side.

Gph: it was definitely a West Ham United transfer (to Woolwich Arsenal) but the last ones were actually in 1904 - Charlie Satteethwaite and James Bigden. Roast McEachrane went to Woolwich in 1902 - even that transfer was post Thames Ironworks but he only played one season for us as West Ham having been signed by TIWFC.

I don't think any player has gone from Arsenal to Spurs direct. Adebyor was indirect;
Clive Allen..well not sure he even played in a pre-season friendly for Arsenal.

I had a row with Montieth over this - he claimed that, although the players left a club called West Ham United and joined Arsenal, the deal was agreed when we were still Thames Ironworks, and so didn't count.
No evidence of this was ever produced.

Bonus points for the FA Cup information !
It’s a good one for a pub chat with mates ... obviously we had only just moved to Upton Park and Arsenal still played in Woolwich sonif worded differently (north London) the answer could be never !

The noughties of last century - Satterthwaite, McEachrane and Bigden.
They played against us in 1906 in the Arsenal team that knocked us out of the FA Cup.

Perez is very respected by Arsenal fans and joins a long list of players moving to us from them .... but who knows when the last first team West Ham player moves the other way ....?
